Stephan Shay, originally from Michigan, found his creative footing after relocating to Ventura, where the region’s natural beauty, relaxed rhythm, and distinct sense of character left a lasting impression.

His early work began with the renovation and outfitting of vintage RVs, compact, character-filled spaces that demanded thoughtful design, precision, and an intuitive understanding of materials. As his connection to craft deepened, this hands-on practice evolved into a dedicated woodworking studio, shaped by close relationships within thelocal art and design community.

Today, Stephan is proud to create custom furniture and woodwork for a wide range of clients, crafting pieces that reflect both the individuality of each project and the enduring influence of the Ojai and Ventura creative landscape.
